Dr. Harris has been working at CAR since September of 2011. She has recently completed her PhD in English at UTSA with a dissertation titled: Recursive Screens: the role of recursive relationships in the rhetorical selection of images and words for the display of archaeological information and discipline identity. Her primary academic interests are visual rhetoric, rhetoric, and the reciprocal relationship between image and word.

According to Dr. Harris working at CAR has been and continues to be a very rewarding experience because of the amount of knowledge that she has gained regarding the history, environment, and culture of both San Antonio and Texas. However, she is quick to point out that not all of the knowledge she has acquired has come through editing reports: “I would say that half of it comes from editing. The other half comes from the willingness of the entire staff to share their experiences in and enthusiasm for archaeology. This truly is a fantastic and diverse group of people to work with and learn from.”
