UTSA’s new Dramatic Arts program will greet its first students in fall 2025, combining training in performance and stagecraft with the study of drama and performance history, storytelling, and technology. Key courses available in acting for stage, screen, and emerging media; stage management; directing; playwriting; stagecraft; dance; and more. All this, plus stage and screen performance opportunities every semester.
The program is highly experiential, with opportunities for internships, professional networking, and building your resume or reel for a career as performer; director; writer; teacher; scholar; designer of sets, costumes, lighting, projection, or sound; and more. You’ll meet pros from leading local theaters and with national experience. You’ll work with leading PhD scholars, MFA artists, and more. You’ll join a community of dedicated collaborators and experience the cutting-edge Buena Vista Theater facilities on UTSA's Downtown Campus and you’ll learn about lots of opportunities to get involved on productions.
