Beginning in fall 2025, UTSA will offer innovative and practical undergraduate programs in Community Arts with concentrations in Arts Leadership, Community Arts Education, and Public Practice. Interdisciplinary by design, these programs will equip students with the essential skills to contribute meaningfully to their community’s creative economies as marketable and competitive arts leaders, community arts educators, and creatives working in public practice.

Students in each track will be provided with opportunities to design project proposals and evaluation tools, consider contemporary issues facing arts and culture institutions, and develop strategies to engage meaningfully and ethically with the communities these institutions serve. Throughout these programs, students will work and create within the UTSA Arts collaboratory and partner with local arts and culture organizations through a variety of experiential learning opportunities within San Antonio’s rich and complex arts and cultural ecosystem.

For more information about our new courses and program, contact Community Arts Director Emilie Amrein to ask questions or be added to the program mailing list.
