Whether you are considering a degree in Music Education, Music Performance, Composition, or Music Marketing, UTSA offers you the training and experience you need to pursue your passions. We are proud that 100% of our music education majors are placed in teaching positions following graduation. Our performance majors compete well in music festivals and summer programs, and San Antonio offers many performance opportunities. Our music marketing majors are developing the skills to work in all areas of the music industry. Our students are interning in prestigious arts programs around the nation. Graduate
The graduate program at UTSA offers you the chance to hone your musical skills with faculty who specialize in Music Education, Performance and Pedagogy. Courses are tailored to enhance and build on your knowledge and skill base. The Department of Music also provides limited and renewable scholarships, graduate assistantships and teaching assistantships based on yearly needs. I encourage you to explore our program, speak with our faculty, and learn what a graduate degree in music from UTSA can mean for you.
UTSA has a tradition of investing in, recognizing, and encouraging promising musicians who seek careers in music. Former UTSA scholarship recipients and graduates are successfully teaching in public schools and universities, attending prestigious graduate schools, conducting professional ensembles, performing in major orchestras, producing their own weekly television programs, and winning prestigious performance competitions. Former students include a past winner of the Steinway Piano Competition and the National Metropolitan Opera Auditions. UTSA Music Scholarships are awarded to talented students who wish to major in music at UTSA. Scholarships may also be available to non-music majors based on ensemble needs.
