About Our Facilities

The Department of Art and Art History offers studio and laboratory facilities that are open to current graduate and undergraduate students. The West Campus SCG building is home to the Sculpture and Ceramics studios while the Main, East Campus ART building contains the Painting & Drawing, Photography, Printmaking, New Media, and Art History classrooms. Additionally, the Art Office is located in the East Campus ART building on the 4th floor. Art faculty offices can be found in both the SCG and ART buildings.

We have several studios located at our Southwest Campus that are shared by PaCE Community classes and School of Art classes.

All art studios and labs are only open for use by currently enrolled School of Art (main and Southwest) and community (Southwest only) students.

School of Art Laboratories and Classrooms are for School of Art faculty, staff, and students only.

School of Art Students are required to carry their UTSA Card on them at all times for laboratory access. Students only have access to the laboratories they are enrolled in. Any additional access must be Instructor and Director approved.

Swipe Card Access is granted after Census Date and until the Last Day of Classes. Any misuse of access will result in lost privileges.

Students working outside of class times must clean and leave the lab before 10 minutes of the start of the next course. Please report any misuse or messes to your Instructor.

Students wanting to work during another course’s scheduled time must obtain the incoming Instructor’s approval before the start of the course. Do not interrupt courses while they are in session. If permission is not granted, students must comply with that decision.
