Scholarships Available

The Department of Political Science and Geography is currently accepting applications for Fall/ Spring Departmental Scholarships!

The John Miller Morris, Jr. Endowed Memorial Scholarship: Available to undergraduate Geography and Environmental Sustainability majors enrolled full-time. Preference given to students with financial need.

The Mansour O. El-Kikhia Study Abroad Endowed Scholarship: Available to undergraduate and graduate Political Science and Geography majors, UTSA GPA of at least 2.5 for undergraduate students/3.0 for graduate students, must be registered in a summer study abroad course. (This scholarship is applicable to the Summer 2022 study abroad.)

The James Baxter Endowed Scholarship: Available to undergraduate Political Science majors who have completed of 60 credit hours, maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and enrollment of 12 or more hours during the Fall and Spring semesters of award. Preference given to students with financial need.

The James D. Calder Annual Scholarship: Available to undergraduate Political Science, Politics and Law, and Geography majors, UTSA GPA of at least 2.7 and completion of 60 credit hours.

The Minnie P. Mastoris Endowed Scholarship: Available to undergraduate Geography majors, resident of Bexar County, top 50% of high school class or GPA of at least 2.50 at college level, and enrollment of 6 or more hours for the Fall and Spring semesters of award.

The Ruben Munguia Endowed Scholarship: Available to graduate Political Science majors enrolled in 6 hours or more during semester of award, hours enrolled must lead to master’s degree. One-page essay required.

The Dean's Merrit Scholarship: Available to new graduate students in all our majors, essay required, must be enrolled in at least 6 hours.

Application Deadline for Fall - Feb. 15. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
