UTSA and the Department of Political Science & Geography offer students numerous opportunities to enhance their education and to ease the financial burden of earning undergraduate and graduate degrees. The federal and local governments, corporations, lobbying organizations, and non-profit groups offer internships to enhance students' university experiences. Some internships are paid; others are volunteer positions. In most cases, students receive university credit. The university also aids students in locating and applying for grants and scholarships and trains students as Supplemental Instructors. The Department provides additional opportunities for M.A. students, such as Research Assistant positions and Teaching Assistant positions.
All of these opportunities provide valuable experience and are excellent assets for your resume. These awards indicate to graduate programs and potential employers that you stand above the rest.
