Democracy requires active participation on the part of its citizens. The civic engagement project gives you a chance to engage with issues that you believe matter to you.
Students and staff will work together with community partners in San Antonio to study issues that are relevant to democracy and then execute a project that makes a difference to our community. In years past, we have successfully collaborated with the Center for Refugee Services and the San Antonio Food Bank.
During our partnership with the San Antonio Food Bank, K4F members volunteered in the SAFB warehouse packing and sorting goods for distribution and organized a month-long food drive across SAISD high school campuses to donate over 1,000 pounds of food just before the Christmas season!
K4F's civic engagement project will be an excellent leadership experience and will certainly shine on college applications.
