Democracy requires active participation on the part of its citizens. The civic project gives you a chance to engage with issues that you believe matter to you.
Since our theme is immigration, students will work in small teams to research an issue relevant to immigration and democracy and then design and execute a project that makes a difference to our community.
Beginning the Wednesday after Labor Day, students will meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings (with the exception of UTSA/HS breaks) to plan and discuss progress on their team’s project. These will be under the guidance of our mentors and staff from the UTSA Honors College.
This project will be an excellent leadership experience and will certainly shine on college applications.
