September 4 - October 26, 2024
Opening Reception: September 4, 6 - 8 pm
Location: UTSA Main Art Gallery
Notes for Tomorrow features works that focus on present conditions inspired by the changes in everyday life during the time of COVID. Thirty curators from around the globe identified artists whose works focus attention on changing contexts and circumstances. Video, photography, installations, and murals provide viewers with a range of artistic approaches that draw attention to a wide range of historic and cultural histories and advocate for change. Texas audiences have a unique opportunity to engage with a broad range of approaches that range from the documentary of individual and collective lived experiences, to considerations of social and cultural discourses, institutions, colonialism and decolonization; to the effects of geographies; and to creative explorations and investigations of original narratives that inspire new considerations. The exhibition is organized and produced by Independent Curators International with alumni of ICI’s Curatorial Intensive professional development program.
Gallery Hours: Thursday - Saturday, 10 am - 3 pm
