Nov.1 -  Nov. 12, 2021
Closing Reception: Friday November 12th 4-6pm

“Freeze, Sucka!” is a series of paintings that comment on pop-culture's oppressive influence on African-American identity. Through these watercolor paintings, the viewer is invited to rethink the messages of pop-culture entertainment that they may have subconsciously taken in. The exhibition comments on pop-culture in two ways: first by self-portraiture and then by re-contextualizing specific mainstream cinema."
