Bio

Jennifer Smith is a writer, director, and producer whose work has garnered numerous awards, screened at national and international film festivals, and been distributed worldwide on multiple platforms.

Smith was an Executive Producer on the feature film The Secret of Moonacre, and worked with Caravan Pictures on feature films such as Six Days, Seven Nights, Holy Man, and Rush Hour. She wrote and directed short films including the award-winning LGBTQ film Girl Talk, and produced several shorts such as Finbar Lebowitz.  Early in her career, Smith worked for Dreamchaser Productions in Dublin, Ireland on such projects as U2’s Zooropa Tour and Miss Sarajevo.  In addition, she has produced and assistant directed numerous commercials and music videos.

She has over 12 years of teaching experience in higher education including teaching study abroad/away programs in Cannes, France and Los Angeles.  She was an academic member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and served on the juries of numerous film festivals and competitions, including the George Foster Peabody Awards.

Smith received a B.A. in Telecommunications from Baylor University, an M.F.A. in Film from Columbia University, and a J.D. from the University of Miami.
