Assistant Professor, Director of Choral Activities, Music
Dr. Yoojin Muhn is the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where she leads a dynamic choral program, conducts the UTSA Chamber Singers, and teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in choral conducting. She also serves as Music Director of the San Antonio Mastersingers, a premier 120-voice volunteer chorus representing the greater San Antonio area.
Dr. Muhn recently served as the clinician and conductor for the Louisiana All-State Choir at the 2025 Louisiana Music Educators Association (LMEA) Conference in New Orleans. She has also been invited to return to Carnegie Hall in 2026 to conduct Fauré’s Requiem as part of Manhattan Concert Productions’ Masterwork Series. Under her direction, the UTSA Choirs have appeared on nationally and internationally recognized stages, including a performance of Mozart’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall in New York and Earth Symphony by Jake Runestad at the 2025 National American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Conference in Dallas. Most recently, her UTSA Chamber Singers have been selected as an invited collegiate ensemble for the 2026 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention.
Previously, Dr. Muhn served as Artistic Director of the Tucson Masterworks Chorale, co-directed the Oriana Women’s Chorus, and was Assistant Conductor of the Concert Choir at the University of Southern California. Her professional training includes prestigious fellowships at the Oregon Bach Festival and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival at the Yale School of Music.
She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Music with honors from the University of Southern California, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music in Sacred Music (with distinction) from Westminster Choir College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Composition from SookMyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea.
