Bio

Susan Dill joined the faculty in 2001. She holds Ph.D. and M.M. degrees in Music Education from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Music Education from Southern Illinois University. She has served on the music faculties of Northwestern State University of Louisiana, St. Louis University, and Webster University. She has been the music education area coordinator at UTSA since 2006. She is also the director of the UTSA Institute for Music Research and her research in the areas of motivation, socialization to the teacher role, and recruitment has been presented at regional, national, and international conferences.

She has been active in NAfME for many years, serving on the editorial board for the Music Educators Journal and past Texas music education representative for the Society of Music Teacher Educators. She currently serves as the president of the Texas MusicEducators Conference (TMEC).

Dr. Dill teaches both undergraduate vocal methods and graduate music education classes. She also serves as the music director at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio.
