Andria Crosson earned her B.A. in History from UTSA in 2001, her M.A. in History from UTSA in 2005, and her M.Ed. from UTRGV in 2023. Her career teaching at UTSA began in the spring 2006 semester. Since then, she regularly teaches a variety of courses in many different modalities for the Department of History ranging from U.S. History survey courses for freshmen to World History and East Asian History civilization courses for sophomores to the senior level course History Standards and Their Public Reception for those in our B.A. with Social Studies Concentration degree path. Her research interests in her M.A. program included East Asian history with a particular focus on Southeast Asian women. She has presented at the National University of Singapore on her work and NUS still holds her M.A. thesis in their special collections.
In 2019 Andria Crosson embarked on the development of a virtual study lab for those attempting the Social Studies Composite Certification state exam. After coordinating 7 subject matter experts across 3 colleges at UTSA and one outside UTSA, the final product has helped increase the passing rate for our students. She runs the lab year-round currently for COLFA and COHED. Her Master of Education degree concentration was in Educational Technology which provided her with technical skills to make her courses both engaging and innovative. She avidly reads the latest peer reviewed work on college students and matches the appropriate technological tools to courses she designs with an eye to highlight and celebrate the diversity of our nation. In 2015 she was honored with the UTSA President’s Distinguished Teaching Award for Teaching Excellence.
