Jenkins is one of the UTSA's most recent hires, arriving on campus in August 2023. Before moving to San Antonio, she resided in Denton, TX, where she taught flute at North Central Texas College and various secondary schools in Plano and HEB ISD.

In addition to her current position with the university, Jenkins teaches privately in the greater metroplex. She plays with various performing groups and frequently works as a soloist and chamber musician with local composers. Most recently, Jenkins appeared on the album In Focus 6, released in June 2022 by RMN Music. Jenkins has also competed in numerous live competitions on regional and national flute stages, including the NFA 2023 Young Artist Competition, Oklahoma Flute Society’s 2022 Young Artist Convention, Rochester Flute Association’s 2020 Piccolo Artist Competition, and Central Ohio Flute Association’s 2020 Young Artist Competition, that latter three of which she emerged as a finalist.

Linda holds a Bachelor of Music from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Music from the University of Oregon, where she studied with Dr. Conor Nelson and Professor Molly Barth, respectively. Her other teachers include Terri Sundberg, Elizabeth McNutt, and Amy Taylor. She recently completed a Graduate Artist Certificate with Professor Terri Sundberg at the University of North Texas and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Music.

Jenkins' faculty recital features a program inspired by and conceptualized around themes such as "a longing for magic," the use of spirituality and air, the relationship between space and time, and Paris Conservatory flute traditions.

"I conceived of this recital as a mixture of traditional flute repertoire and newer works, all showcasing the breadth and depth of the instrument," said Jenkins on the concert's program.

The works being performed include Sonata in E Major for flute and piano (1741) by Johann Sebastian Bach, Anima para flauta sola (2023) by Mariana Villanueva, Troisieme Sonata for flute and piano (1934) by Philippe Gaubert, Sonatine for flute and piano (1946) by Pierre Sancan,  and Lachrymose for solo piccolo (2006) by Derek Charke.

The faculty concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. in the UTSA Recital Hall on Friday, January 19, 2024, with no admission charge for entry.
