UTSA Korean Book Club and Korean Culture Club hosted and prepared "Korean Film Night"

This event was held one week after the Kimchi Festival, which attracted around 700 guests. With the support of the Korean Foundation, the movie event had a great turn out. An audience of about 150 people came to watch Juror 8 which was released in 2019 and is an adaptation of South Korea's first trial by jury that was held in 2008. The movie starred famous Korean actors such as Park Hyung-Sik and Moon So-Ri. Before the screening, the guests eagerly waited outside of the Retama to receive small gifts, snacks, and various other promotional flyers prepared by the UTSA students. The guests also had a great time taking photos with friends and family at the Bukchon Village themed photobooth. Throughout the film, the audience was heard laughing, gasping, clapping, and even crying. Despite some audience members not knowing much about Korean culture, everyone had a great time. Many audience members had feedback saying that they would like more Korean movies and Korean related events held at UTSA. The movie night ended as a big success for the Korean learning community at UTSA. The volunteers and professors during this event gave tremendous amount of effort towards this cultural experience. There will definitely be more Korean culture events in the future.
