Biography

Lillian Cervantes is a senior double-major in Public Administration and Women’s Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her research interests include Educational Endeavors of adolescent and teenage Chicanas and the San Antonio Community. As a native San Antonioan, Lillian is informed by her community and hopes to spend her life giving back to the students of our city. Her long-term goals include serving as a professor, non-profit work, and traveling with a goal of learning about other cultures. Lillian’s motivation in her research and goals lie in her belief that the public school students of San Antonio deserve a quality education that empowers them to strive for greatness, which will in turn, build community equity and a better environment for everyone involved.

Research Interests

Education and how community organizing can empower Latina women to move away from gendered cultural values.
