Biography
Adrian Melendez is a Jr. at UTSA pursuing a major in Anthropology with a minor in Biology. An active member in extracurriculars, such as the Anthropological Society and Secular Student Alliance, he’s also been a founding officer of the grassroots political club DPUTSA. His current topic of interest for research is exploring how and to what extent the identity of the Latinx community has contributed to contemporary political movements of the 2000’s such as the March on Wall St., BLM, and various Mexican/American borderlands demonstrations. Adrian’s aspiration is to go to graduate school for Forensic Anthropology.
Research Interests
Policing in San Antonio and how the latino community interacts, perceives, and responds to policing.
