Bio

Fall 2024 Office Hours: Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:45am - 1:45pm.

I am a product of the UT system. I earned my bachelor’s degree from UTSA in May 2006, and went on to complete my master’s degree at UTSA in December 2010. I have been teaching history classes at UTSA since Spring 2011. I teach a variety of courses including Texas History, World Civilizations, American History: Pre-Columbian to Reconstruction, and American History: Reconstruction to the Present. In collaboration with my colleague, Dr. Patrick Kelly, I co-edited Living on the Edge: Texas During the Civil War and Reconstruction, a primary source supplemental text on Texas history during the Civil War era. It was published in 2015 by Cognella Publishing Company. I love studying history and teaching history. I believe that studying and understanding history is essential because we all create it, and we are all affected by it.
