Description
Echoes of a Human Heart is a senior viola recital by Bryan Echeveste on April 3, 2026 at 5:00 PM in the UTSA Recital Hall.
This program explores shared themes of emotion and human experience across different musical styles and time periods. The recital features the Prelude from Bach’s Suite No. 2, followed by selections from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet that depict love, conflict, and tragedy. The first movement of Bartók’s Viola Concerto follows with a sense of intensity and rhythmic drive, while the first movement of Dvořák’s American Quartet closes the program with warmth and a feeling of connection.
Bryan Echeveste performs as the soloist and is joined by Jessica Lara (violin), Daniel Rocha (violin), and Katherine Beebe (cello) as the Humoresque Quartet. Together, these works reflect the many emotions that “echo” throughout the recital.
