UTSA Lyric Theatre presents a double-bill of Poulenc's La voix Humaine and Penix & Howell's Women on the Line on March 5th and 6th at 7:30pm at the UTSA Arts Cube.
Poulenc's LA VOIX HUMAINE is a one-woman piece that focuses on the end of a romantic relationship. La voix will be sung by Taylor Malcolm with Anna Hakobyan at the piano.
WOMEN ON THE LINE examines important moments in American history from 1920 to 2020, with women heralding these times through a pivotal means of communication - the telephone. This one-act opera for seven singers and chamber ensemble was composed by Wesley S. Uchiyama Penix with a libretto by Jourdan Laine Howell. Singers: Madeleine Phipps, Johanna Kitchen, Ana Mariñelarena, Emily Densmore, Jessica Morales, Deeana Jaini-Malave, and Abraham Gomez. Conducted by Jordan D. Boyd.
