French Club

French Club

The French Club is open to anyone with an interest in the French culture and language to join. It is a conversational group but also provides help to students who may need help in their French language studies. Practice in the language and exploration in the culture is developed through conversation and social outings.

The club is informal so you can message the club on their Facebook page for more information, but you are encouraged to simply show up to a meeting if you wish to join. Meetings are planned once a week over Zoom to ensure the safety of our members! If any students are interested, they can contact our Secretary, Janice Reyes

This semester, we are emphasizing cultural and conversational fluency:

*All of our students are in teams within their own classes and they meet 30 minutes a week to practice dialogues coming from short videos or movies they are watching.

*We are also pioneering a weekly cross-level collaborative work among all students as well as an opportunity to speak with French speakers who are current students, alumni, or friends living as far as France.

*Our elementary level students will work with native speakers working for Boomalang, an online language exchange platform, starting in November.

*The French club is starting its weekly meeting again on Wednesdays at 4 pm. Here is the link you need, to come and join us:

All these virtual meetings are lots of fun!
