Dr. Chin Jou, Associate Professor and Brackenridge Endowed Chair in Interdisciplinary Humanities, will be providing an overview of her book manuscript, "Captive Consumers: Prison Food in the Era of Mass Incarceration." The manuscript encompasses the history, politics, sociology, and business of prison food in the United States, and makes the case that prison food brings to the forefront forms of overlooked violence, punishment, and inequalities in incarceration in the contemporary United States. This lecture presentation will be held in the John Peace Library 4.04.20 on Tuesday, November 14th from 4:00pm-6:00pm.
