to the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Psychology is the
scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Students learn to apply
the principles and methods of science to a broad range of topics, including
memory, sensation, perception, learning, thought, motivation, emotion,
human development, language, personality, abnormal behavior, psychotherapy,
and social psychology.
Topics of investigation
range from the life sciences to the social sciences, and applications occur
in clinical, industrial and other social contexts.
The requirements
for the major are designed to introduce the student to the broad spectrum
of psychology and foster skills in critical thinking. |
