Current Research: I am currently investigating alternate methods of assessing personality to be used in employment selection. The methods include the use of structure interviews, biographical data, and self-report measures. I am also interested in developing semi-structure interviews for assessing personality traits of the Big 5 factors that show promise for practical use. Research shows managers in industry are reluctant to use highly structured interviews despite the validity of the technique. However, managers commonly use the less valid unstructured interview technique for employee selection. Thus, developing semi-structured interviews that are valid may provide utility in practice as managers may be more inclined to use them.
