Research Interests: The influence of culture and gender on interaction and conceptions of the self; the influence of parent-child interaction on children's understanding of the world; the influence of language on concepts.

Current Research: The influence of gender and ethnicity on the accessibility of personal memories; individualism and collectivism among Mexican American and European American college students: stereotypes and realities; parental expressiveness and children's perceptions of parent's emotions; social constructions of gender through language; verb acquisition in English and Spanish.
