The Brackenridge Distinguished Visiting Professor for 2009-2010 will be Prof. Simon Critchley (New School). There will be a workshop addressing important topics in Critchley's work, especially the relations of philosophy to literature, the thought of Emmanuel Levinas and anarchist political ethics. The Symposium is free, and open to the public. For more information please contact Alistair Welchman.
The Metaphysics and Philosophy of Religion Workshop is open to students and faculty at UTSA and to the public at large. Its aim is to provide a forum for scholars to present their current work in metaphysics or philosophy of religion and to engage in lively discussion and debate with others on this work. All presenters and commentators who participate in the two-day Workshop are invited and represent some of the best national and international scholars working in metaphysics and philosophy of religion. Presenters' papers (of roughly 3000 words) will made available on-line before the Workshop, in the expectation that, along with brief comments from invited moderators, every participant will bring thoughtful comments and questions on each paper.
