On Friday, November 18th, 2011 at 4:30 in the Sombrilla, the UTSA Classics club will host its first ever Latin Scrabble Tournament. The winner will receive a $20 gift card to the Santikos Movie theaters. There is a 5$ entrance fee, which will be put towards purchasing books for the high school Latin class taught by one of our recent graduates, Michael Weil. Game on!

The department is very happy to welcome Prof. William Duffy aboard! Prof. Duffy comes to us from Buffalo, NY where he recently completed his doctoral dissertation on “Legacies of an Imaginary People: The Phaeacians after Homer”.
