2018 HERA Conference: Humanities through the Ages

Wednesday, March 7, 2018 – March 10, 2018

The Humanities Education and Research Association [HERA] is having its annual conference in Chicago, 7-10 March 2018 on Humanities through the Ages.

 

HERA is an interdisciplinary organization that includes all the arts and sciences. Please inform your faculty about HERA’s conference by emailing them a copy of the attached conference poster and displaying the poster in your department office.  The deadline for submissions is January 25, 2018.

Creative presentations, readings, and exhibitions are also welcomed. Submissions are encouraged from educators at all levels (including advanced graduate students) as well as all those with an interest in the arts and humanities.

Proposals for papers, panels, or workshops (150-200 words) must be submitted through the conference web portal on the HERA website at http://www.h-e-r-a.org.

Presentation time for individual papers is limited to 15-20 minutes.

Deadline for submission: no later than January 25, 2018

 

New this year, HERA introduces the HERA Undergraduate Research Prize, a prize of $1,000 awarded to the best undergraduate conference paper (or divided among a panel of papers), sponsored by an attending professor (with a $500 prize awarded to the professor). The Palmer House has a special rate of $139 for conference attendees. It is located across the street from the Chicago Art Institute, the Chicago Symphony, the Chicago Theater district, and a few blocks from the Chicago Lyric Opera.
