The Knowledge Bowl Tricentennial took place on Thursday, November 9 in my History 1053.008 classroom and the winners are as follows: Favour Obuseh (First Place), Andrea Rangel-Toledo (Second Place), and Jada Ebong (Third Place).
In preparation for this event over 22 student contestants (out of a class of 170 students) read 34 Handbook of Texas articles on San Antonio history and Texas history. During the contest, they were asked 72 questions. Out of that number, 57 questions were answered correctly and 15 incorrectly so 80% of the questions were answered correctly. I'm very proud of these History 1053 students for doing the extra work and learning so much about the history of their community in the process.
Ray Kennard (student volunteer), Hailey Urbano (student volunteer), Professor Gabriela Gonzalez (course instructor and event MC), Andrea Rangel-Toledo (Second Place Winner), Favour Obuseh (First Place Winner), Jada Ebong (Third Place Winner), Professor Catherine Komisaruk (UGAR and faculty volunteer), and Isabel Camacaro-Cedeno (SI volunteer)
