Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships

 

The GEV Scholarship for COLFA Semester in Urbino, Italy

  • $1,000
  • Eligibility

    • Must be a student actively pursuing a degree with a declared major in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts at The University of Texas at San Antonio.
    • Student must register with the Office of International Programs/Study Abroad program.
    • The award will be applied toward the costs associated with the student’s participation in a European educational travel experience, as approved by the Dean of the College of Liberal and Fine Arts.
    • Selection of the recipient(s) will be made by an officially recognized committee of the College of Liberal and Fine Arts.
  • Application Requirements

    • The COLFA Semester Abroad, Urbino, Italy application
    • Proof of registration with the UTSA Office of International Programs/Study Abroad Program
    • Copies of travel program information and applications (as applicable)
    • Brief essay answering application questions
    • A letter of recommendation from a UTSA faculty member
    • Completed Budget Section of Application

The David Bowen Memorial Endowment for Study in Europe for Summer/Fall 2017

  • Amount and number of awards vary depending on endowment distributions
  • Eligibility

    • Undergrad
    • COLFA Major
    • Register with the Office of International Programs
    • Travel experience must be at least two weeks in duration
    • March 13 deadline for fall/summer travel
  • Application Requirements

    • Application

Dean’s Circle Scholarship

John S. Jockusch Endowed Scholarship in the Liberal Arts

  • Amount and number of awards vary depending on endowment distributions
  • Eligibility

    • Undergrad or Grad
    • Liberal Arts Major (American Studies, Anthropology, Communication, English, French, German, History, Humanities, Philosophy, Classical Studies, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Spanish)
    • Full-time (9 or 12 hrs)
    • 3.0 GPA
    • Completed FAFSA

Kangaroo Court Restaurants of Texas, Inc. Annual Scholarship

  • $2,000/yr

    • COLFA Major (Geography preference)

Mary Pat and Louis H. Stumberg Endowed Scholarship for Interdisciplinary Studies in Music and the Sciences

  • Amount and number of awards vary depending on endowment distributions
  • Eligibility

    • Undergrad or Grad
    • Music minor with a major in one of the disciplines below OR a music major with a minor in one of the following disciplines:
      • Any major in College of Engineering
      • Any major in College of Science
      • Anthropology
      • Communication
      • Psychology
      • Sociology
      • Other social/behavioral science discipline
    • Grad students with music major and secondary research focus in one of the above disciplines OR a major in one of the disciplines above and secondary research focus in music
  • Application Requirements

    • Brief essay (no less than 200 words) explaining the importance of music in your intellectual and personal life.
    • Graduate student essay s should include an explanation of research or areas of focus
