The David Bowen Memorial Endowment for Study in Europe

  • Amount and number of awards vary depending on endowment distributions
  • Eligibility

    • Undergrad
    • COLFA Major
    • Register with the Office of International Programs
    • Travel experience must be at least two weeks in duration
    • November 1 deadline for spring travel and March 13 deadline for fall/summer travel
  • Application Requirements

    • Application
    • Proof of registration with the UTSA Office of International Programs
    • Copies of travel program information and applications (as applicable)
    • Letter of recommendation (UTSA faculty member)
    • Completed Budget Section of Application

Hewitt Family Annual Scholarship

  • $1,500/yr
  • Eligibility

    • Grad or Undergrad
    • COLFA Major
    • Full-time (9 - 12 hrs)
    • 3.0 GPA
    • Minimum 30 hrs completed
    • Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities in school and community through volunteer efforts

John S. Jockusch Endowed Scholarship in the Liberal Arts

  • Amount and number of awards vary depending on endowment distributions
  • Eligibility

    • Undergrad or Grad
    • Liberal Arts Major (American Studies, Anthropology, Communication, English, French, German, History, Humanities, Philosophy, Classical Studies, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Spanish)
    • Full-time (9 or 12 hrs)

Kangaroo Court Restaurants of Texas, Inc. Annual Scholarship

  • $2,000/yr

Mary Pat and Louis H. Stumberg Endowed Scholarship for Interdisciplinary Studies in Music and the Sciences

  • Amount and number of awards vary depending on endowment distributions
  • Eligibility

    • Undergrad or Grad
    • Music minor with a major in one of the disciplines below OR a music major with a minor in one of the following disciplines:
      • Any major in College of Engineering
      • Any major in College of Science
      • Anthropology
      • Communication
      • Psychology
      • Sociology
      • Other social/behavioral science discipline
    • Grad students with music major and secondary research focus in one of the above disciplines OR a major in one of the disciplines above and secondary research focus in music
  • Application Requirements

    • Brief essay (no less than 200 words) explaining the importance of music in your intellectual and personal life.
    • Graduate student essay s should include an explanation of research or areas of focus

Alameda/UTSA Endowed Internship in Museum Studies

  • Amount and number of awards vary depending on endowment distributions
  • Eligibility

    • Grad
    • Major in Anthropology or Art History
    • Preference given to students with 20 credit hours completed
    • Internships available at:
      • The Alameda, San Antonio, TX
      • The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures, San Antonio
      • The Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C.
      • The Kennedy Center, Washington D.C.
      • Other cultural institution deemed appropriate by the Dean
  • Application Requirements

    • Brief essay (500 word narrative proposing the internship location and how the experience fits into your academic development and area of study, and what you hope to gain from experience.
