      Elizabeth MacCrossan, Department of English Ph.D. candidate, has won a UTSA Presidential Dissertation Fellowship. Elizabeth MacCrossan is writing her dissertation about the Troubles in Northern Ireland, examining literary and artistic expressions of the rift that still exists there, and using rhetorical and linguistic methods of analysis, as well as theoretical insights from analysts of the U.S.- Mexican borderlands, to shed new light on the situation. Elizabeth was one of only three candidates, in a pool of 20 applicants, who received the award.
