ART & ART HISTORY COLFA Advising CenterUniversity of Texas at San Antonio |
Background Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art - [BFA] A professional undergraduate degree, the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art offers a specialization in ceramics, digital media, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. Our BFA graduates may choose to pursue an advanced degree such as a Master of Fine Arts, select to become a professional artist, or seek a career in art education or other art related endeavors.
Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art - [BA] The Bachelor of Arts in Art provides specialized study in the context of a liberal arts education. As an alternative to the BFA, the BA presents a greater emphasis on academic studies and a lesser emphasis on studio studies. A broad foundation in cultural, historic and social studies from this degree enhances a student's development and practical application of critical thinking and other cognitive skills useful across the employment spectrum and sought after by potential employers. Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Criticism - [BA] In addition to traditional European studies, our faculty's
specialization in Art of the Americas makes this program attractive to
students in culturally diverse San Antonio as well as to those from other
parts of the country who wish to take advantage of our geographical proximity
to the border with Mexico and beyond. The BA in Art History prepares
graduates in a field of importance to the city of San Antonio and fosters
opportunities for practical work experience through internships at museums
and galleries. Degree Plans Art ~ ART Art History & Criticism ~ AHC
