




Graduate Study in Political ScienceThe Department of Political Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio provides students an opportunity to receive advanced training in political science methodologies and theories, and offers specializations in American Politics, International Relations, and Political Theory and Law. Recent courses have focused on topics such as terrorism, human rights, campaigns and elections, politics and the media, immigration, and theories of justice. Recent graduates from the program are currently: -Teaching politics courses in community colleges and four-year universities in San Antonio and South Texas. Students wishing to apply to the Master of Arts Program in Political Science must submit the following materials to the UTSA graduate admissions office: 1) an application form (available online); 2) an application fee; 3) official transcripts from all collegiate institutions attended including community colleges; 4) a statement of purpose (roughly 500 words or two typed pages) indicating your interest and goals in studying political science; and 5) at least one letter of recommendation from someone familiar with your academic or professional qualifications. GRE and LSAT scores are optional, but are recommended for students who feel their undergraduate GPA does not accurately reflect their academic potential.
