Department of Political Science and Geography

Our interdisciplinary faculty includes 17 Political Scientists and 4 geographers, many of whom are nationally and internationally recognized for their research and teaching. The department offers a wide range of courses designed to educate students about the international system, other countries' political systems and cultures as well as political and social institutions and issues within the United States. The faculty emphasizes critical thought and conceptual understanding, and assists students in furthering their academic and professional careers. The department promotes diversity among its faculty and students and provides students with opportunities to explore and celebrate diversity.

Geoffrey S. Corn is Professor of Law at the South Texas College of Law. Corn was the U.S. Army’s senior law of war expert in the Office of the Judge Advocate General and Chief of the Law of War Branch in the International Law Division.
