The Department of Languages and Literatures
is
currently organizing the European Film Conference for September 8-10,
2008 to run in tandem with the 5th European Film Festival (sponsored by
the European consuls and the City of San Antonio). You are invited to
submit
an abstract on any aspect of film in the European Union to nancy.membrez@utsa.edu.
Reading time is 20 minutes. Deadline is June 1, 2008. Please
pass this information to interested colleagues and announce to graduate
students as appropriate. If you don't want to read a paper but would be
interested in chairing a session, please let Dr. Membrez know.
Calling all poets! The San Antonio Poetry
Fair, sponsored by the Department of Languages and Literatures, has put
out the call for original twenty-eight line poems. Several contests
include
specialty items such as limericks or Texas themes. Deadline is in June.
The event itself takes
